PHLEBOTOMY - INTRODUCTION

OBJECTIVES:28.0 Demonstrate accepted professional, communication, and interpersonal skills for a phlebotomist.  1.Demonstrate the professional behavior of a phlebotomist. 2. Explain to the patient the procedure to be used in specimen collection.  3. Explain the importance of identifying patients correctly in drawing blood.  4. Describe the scope of practice  5. List and describe professional organizations that provide accreditation, certification, &  licensure to phlebotomists.   6. Explain the importance of continuing education in relation to certification to maintain competency and skills.
